We are new to the area and our dental insurance provided a list of dentists that we could choose from. Given the fact my husband's visit to a dentistry in our old hometown was awful, pushing deep cleaning on all patients, we were extra diligent in reading reviews. After reading all of the reviews from over 50 dentists, we narrowed our search to two dental offices. We read all of the reviews on the San Marcos Modern Dentistry and decided to try them. Given my history, dentistal offices are not the most comfortable places for me to visit. When we contacted the office, they made an appointment for me and my husband, offering us appointments with the same doctor or at the same time with different doctors. We opted for tandem appointments to save time. On our day, we walked in and were greeted by Destiney who was extremely welcoming and pleasant. All of the office staff we encountered, were very friendly and helpful; quick to answer any questions or concerns that we had. From the start we recognized this was unlike any dental office we had ever visited. They are extremely thorough and treat the patients, not only for dental needs, but also whole health. Per our PA, that is important since overall patient health and dental issues truly work hand in hand. Understanding this was definitely a different type of dentistry, I feel it is important to describe my experience in detail so others would not feel these doctors had interest in anything other than patient care. I was taken back by Karly who took extensive x-rays to include panoramic, as well as from every other angle. I had never had panoramic x-rays or other x-rays from under the jaw and above the teeth. She also took my blood pressure and performed a saliva assessment to check the number of bacteria I had in my mouth. Once all of the pre-treatment information was colleced, Dr. Aldaz came in to consult with me. She did not try to upsale me on services not needed, such as deep cleaning, but did look at my x-rays and found several issues brewing, I did not know existed. I knew I had an issue with my upper tooth under an old crown. I also have an older crown on the bottom exhibiting signs of issues, but not as bad. Dr. Aldez noticed abscesses on the top above the one crown and along the lower jaw under the other crown. Though I did not want to acknowledge it, both are over ten years old and need to be removed and re-crowned. Destiney met with me to provide a cost break down. Though I was a bit sparky (she was only the messenger), Destiney remained professional and calm, offering to have the doctor provide other options for treatment. Dr. Aldez was very compassionate and understanding, working to offer alternatives to treating my issues without breaking us financially. After offering the alternatives, she in no way pressured me to make a decision. She completed my cleaning and suggested I consult with the endodontist, leaving me to decide if I wanted to make an appointment. She made an appointment for my six month check-up, prescribed antibiotics for my abscesses, and asked me to call to follow-up. Their position is not easy because they sometimes have to assess and break news to patients they have been denying or not wanted to hear. I feel the doctors and staff at San Marcos Modern Dentistry are honest fair and compassionate with patient needs being number one. It should be noted that my husband, who has good teeth, was not recommended any unneeded services. Our pocketbook is grateful!

The team at San Marcos Modern Dentistry are all amazing! Professional, friendly, knowledgeable, punctual, and efficient. They’ve made my two visits so far very easy. I’m especially grateful to Dr. Yaseri for being so personable, kind, caring. Thank you! I look forward to coming back to this office for my future visits.
